While I understand his frustration at Israeli aggression, the thought of such a devout CATHOLIC pointing fingers is rather preposterous. All the war, pain and destruction "The Church" has wrought over the years, all the distortions and manipulations of the savior they supposedly believe in... all in the name of power and control. So many wars, from the Crusades to silently sanctioning the Holocaust, and much carnage in between. So many priests convicted of molesting children while the church covered up their deeds. Perhaps Mel should look to fix his own house before criticizing others.

On the other side, it's embarrassing to see prominent Jews so eagerly rush to destroy his career over a drunken rant of silly, overblown ideas his father has been feeding him all his life. The fact that anything deemed "anti-Semetic" is forbidden speech is not only ludicrous but self-defeating! Insisting that non-jews are not ALLOWED to say certain things simply creates more anti-Semitism!
